Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]
E-WIREPRESS is run by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“we”). This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect when you use the site, what we do with it and the choices you have. We don’t sell personal information and we don’t show ads.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, which we use to send you a sign-in link (there are no passwords), plus your newsroom’s name, logo, website, brand settings and team members you invite.
- What you write and upload. Story answers, press releases, drafts, translations, media you upload (images, files, video links) and the contact details you put on a release. Anything you publish is public on your newsroom page, the newswire, its feeds and, if you allow it, partner news sites.
- Media contacts you add. If you keep a list of reporters to pitch, we store the names and addresses you enter on your behalf. You are responsible for having a right to contact them.
- People who subscribe. Journalists who sign up for beat digests, readers who follow a newsroom or subscribe to the Newxle digest, reporters who post requests and sites that apply to republish the wire give us their email address, name and the preferences they choose. Every list is double opt-in and every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Newxle reader accounts. Signing in on Newxle is optional. If you do, we keep your email address, the stories you save and the sections and sources you follow, so they’re on every device. A Newxle account isn’t an E-WIREPRESS newsroom, and we don’t send it product or marketing email.
- Newxle alerts on your device. If you turn alerts on, your browser gives us an address its push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft) uses to reach that device, with the keys that encrypt each alert. We keep it with the sections you follow, your daily limit, quiet hours and time zone, when you agreed and which stories we sent. No name, email or phone number is needed.
- Reading counts. When someone views or reads a published release we add one to a daily count for that release and where the visit came from (for example “LinkedIn” or “email”). These counts don’t identify the reader.
- Billing. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe handles your payment details. We keep your plan, billing status and the customer reference Stripe gives us, never your card number.
- Technical data. Our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and time of request) to run the service securely.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, save and publish your news.
- To distribute what you publish: the newswire, feeds, search engine notifications, digests to opted-in journalists and readers, and partner sites when your newsroom allows it.
- To send the emails you’d expect: sign-in links, coverage alerts, weekly reports and product tips (tips can be turned off at any time).
- To keep the wire trustworthy: a person may review a new newsroom’s releases before they go on the wire.
- To show you results and to bill paid plans.
Who helps us run E-WIREPRESS
We share data only with providers that help us run the service, under contracts that limit what they can do with it:
- Supabase hosts our database, file storage and sign-in.
- Anthropic powers AI drafting, editing, social posts, translations and reporter matching. When you use these features we send the text you’re working on to Anthropic to generate a response.
- Resend delivers our email.
- Stripe processes payments for paid plans.
- Google Fonts serves the site’s typefaces, so your browser contacts Google when pages load.
- Video links you add to a release (YouTube, Vimeo or Loom) play in that provider’s own player, under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people or the service from fraud and abuse.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content while your account is open. Published releases stay public until you unpublish them or close your account. Unsubscribing stops email right away; we keep a record of the opt-out so we don’t email you again. Server logs and backups are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Edit or unpublish your releases at any time.
- On Newxle, “Delete my Newxle data” removes your saved stories and follows from your account and that browser at once. “Delete my account”, next to it, deletes the account itself for good, with your saves and follows and the Newxle digest to its email address. Without an account, the digest’s unsubscribe link stops it.
- “Turn off alerts” in Newxle’s sidebar, or blocking notifications for Newxle in your browser, stops alerts and deletes that device’s alert settings and history.
- Delete your account yourself in Settings, under Account. Newsrooms only you were on, and any paid plan on them, go with it.
- Turn off tips, alerts and weekly reports in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion of your account by emailing [LEGAL CONTACT EMAIL]. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have further rights, and we honor them.
Children
E-WIREPRESS is for businesses and adults. It isn’t meant for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
